Travelodge Hotels

As you can see if you look around our site you can see that we love to travel. With nearly all of our hobbies we travel to different parts of the UK and we nearly always stay in Travelodges. In fact we are often asked from friends who need to stay somewhere, where is the nearest Travelodge. When most of Peters office went away to London for various training courses. His boss left him in charge of the hotel bookings, knowing that Peter knew where the Travelodges were and any deals that they were doing at the time.

We do have a little aim, in that we are trying to stay, at least one night, in every single Travelodge. We are still debating whether, for example, the A34 Northbound Travelodge and the A34 Southbound Travelodge count as the same lodge or two different ones.

We like Travelodges (and are on their 'Customer Panel') because they are easy to book, offer good rates at times, cover all of the country and you know exactly what you are going to get. Or do you????? Most of our friends would say that all Travelodges are the same but they are not. When you have stayed in as many as we have you begin to notice the differences. Some differences are small, like some Travelodges will leave 4 cups in a Family room, others only 2, some have just showers, others have a bath as well. Some have normal TV's other you can buy films. Some have different décor. Some have pictures on the wall others don't. Incidentally, I think they are removing the pictures from the wall of Travelodges. When we stayed at one in Norfolk recently they were selling off their pictures as they had been told to remove them from the rooms. We have two of them. One is having pride of place in our bedroom. Most of our friends laughed at this, saying that we were trying to make our bedroom look like a Travelodge, so we can get that Travelodge feel every night. How silly is that. I mean, how could I get hold of a Gideon's Bible to make the room complete. ;)
